The artwork of this deck recalls the magnificence of the princely courts and pastimes of courtiers, the battles of the Crusades, the solitary study of philosophers, discussions of theologians, and the daily work and beliefs of the common people during the time known as the late Middle Ages.
Structure: The majors have the typical names and the court cards are King, Queen, Knight, and Knave. Suits are Chalices, Pentacles, Wands, and Swords. All cards are illustrated with scenes from Medieval times. Unique spread included which uses seven cards laid out in the form of a hand (illustration provided) using a Chiromantic method.
