Buffy, the Vampire Slayer Alyson Hannigan as Willow Rosenberg  The Cosmic Tarot It is presented as Willow's personal tarot deck, to be thrown away along with all of her other occult paraphernalia as she attempts to give up her addiction to magic.  Season 6, episode 11, "Gone."
Buffy, the Vampire Slayer Alyson Hannigan as Willow Rosenberg; Nicholas Brendon as Zander Harris; Anthony Steward Head as Rupert Giles. An oracle deck called ______. Cards shown: Spiritus (Spirit), Animus (Heart), Sophus (Mind), and Manus (Hand). The three friends perform a spell to join their abilities with those of the Slayer. "Primeval" Episode 4.21.
Buffy, the Vampire Slayer   Juliet Landau as Drusilla. Some of the cards used in the early scene are clearly Rider-Waite cards, among them the 8 and 9 of swords. Other cards seem to be made up to fit the plot. In all likelihood, this is not a published deck, but one created specifically for the show. Cards shown include knight, tiger, scorpion, R-W devil. Druisilla turns over the three cards claiming that some friends are coming to kill the Slayer. In fact, Spike has called in the order of Taraka. At several points in the two part episode, Drusilla turns over cards to predict events, proclaiming when the assassins have arrived in Sunnydale. "What's My Line?" Carnivāle Drama series on HBO Clea Duvall as Sofie, the tarot reader. Rider-Waite  Ben, played by Nick Stahl, gets a tarot reading from Sofie. The cards-evoking the past, transformation and a hidden talent-draw Ben into memories of his terrible, terrible secret. Episode #1, "Milfay" 2004.
 Carnivāle HBO Drama Series Clea Duvall as Sofie, the tarot reader.  Rider-Waite Giving a reading, Sofie struggles with her mother over what to reveal to her customer. Finally, she sees a vision of the woman holding the body of her dead daughter, and the she learns the grim future. "Not my Sally," she wails. "Not my little girl." Sofie is devastated by the horror of the vision and the struggle. Episode #10 "Hot & Bothered"
Carmen: A Hip Hopera Musical/Drama: Songs from the Bizet opera with modern lyrics. Beyonce Knowles as Carmen Brown and Wyclef Jean as the psychic/tarot reader.   At an all-black army camp, civilian parachute maker and "hot bundle" Carmen Jones is desired by many of the men--but not by the one she wants, Joe, who is engaged to sweet Cindy Lou. Carmen goes to have a tarot reading done. The Death card is featured prominently. May 8, 2001.
Charmed Drama series. Judy Gleeson as Ruth Cobb. Visconti-Sforza Pierpont Morgan Tarot. Summoned back through time by a coven of witches to the year 1670, the three sisters learn that their task is to h elp save an unborn child, who is destined to become a powerful witch. Ruth, a practitioner of dark magic, is holding the child's mother captive in hopes of raising the child herself once it's born. At one point in the story, Ruth lays out tarot cards and discovers that the sisters have come from the future to rescue mother and child. In the 5-card card spread she lies out, four of the cards are visible: 3 of Pentacles, Judgement, The Moon, and 3 of Cups (reversed). "All Halliwell's Eve" #48, season 3, originally aired October 26, 2000.
Chicago Hope Medical drama. Mae Whitman as Sara Wilmette. New Palladini Tarot. It's discovered that Sara's mother, a doctor who has been chosen for a NASA space misssion, has a medical problem that might keep her from being able to go. Sara has borrowed a deck of tarot cards from her friend's mother (throughout the show we hear her talking in voiceover about the meanings of various cards she has drawn). Featured cards include the 2 of Cups, the Star (reversed), the High Priestess, and Death. The focus of the plot is on the Moon card as Sara explores how afraid she is that her mother won't be safe if she does go into space. "Karmic Relief" episode # 108, season 5, originally aired January 20, 1999.
Cold Comfort Farm   Made for TV film, Comedy.    Eileen Atkins plays the part of Judith Starkadder, who is the divining mother of Cold Comfort Farm.  Rider-Waite, well used. Cards were laid in a spread and the card Judith  held up (to the camera) was the Sun card.  Cold Comfort farm is a scary, dark place that a socialite enters because she wants to write. Those that live at the farm are bound by a sort of force (It seems that they fear making changes. Everything has to stay the same.) Ada Doom, the matriarch of the farm stays locked in her room and speaks of long ago seeing "something nasty in the woodshed." The socialite introduces all sorts of "foreign" things to the farm like a dishscrubber  (previously, they used a stick to clean the dishes), tea time, and magazines; and she gets involved in a love match. Before a sunny happy wedding, Judith is shown looking at a spread and picks up the Sun card. 1996.
Crossing Jordon Drama Series. Steve Valentine plays Nigel Townsend, who reads cards to determine who will be laid off at the office due to office cutbacks. Trey and Bug observed the reading. Rider-Waite Title character, Jordan Cavanaugh, comes up just as Nigel finishes his reading. One of the cards that he drew was the Knight of Swords, reversed. The final card chosen was the Hanged Man. Episode: "Four Fathers," aired Jan. 28, 2002.
Dark Shadows    Gothic horror soap opera. Grayson Hall played the Countess.  Tarot of Marseilles During the "Vicki goes back in time"  sequence of the episodes, which lasted four months--the cards were brought out at various times. Usually for the foretelling of Vicki's awful fate.   Actually, the Countess also read for various other characters (Barnabas, Elizabeth, etc.) to tell them about the horrifying things that would happen to them,  Often the Countess would be at least partly involved in making sure her doom- filled prophecies came true.   Series ran: 1967-1971.
Dawson's Creek Series ________ as Gypsy Fortune Teller. RW clone called ______. Card shown: The Lovers. The psychic explains Dawson's relational problem with Joey while contemplating "the Lovers." "Psychic Friends"
The Dead Zone Series Karin Konoval as Sylvia, remote viewer/seer. Giant Rider Waite The American government, via a secret branch of the CIA, had been using several psychics to find info on terrorism, and they were giving the main character of the show--Johnny Smith played by Anthony Michael Hall--a chance to assist them. He demonstrated that he was adept and he was placed in a room in a secret facility in Vermont with three other remote viewers working to discover the whereabout of an unnamed, in hiding, war criminal (Osama bin Laden). The woman seer had tarot cards with her. She pulled one card for him--The Star. Then she told him to enjoy his 15 minutes of fame.   "The Hunt" , Sun. 7/27/03
Dharma and Greg  Comedy.  Jenna Elfman plays Dharma. Cards not shown close up Greg needs a new secretary and Dharma volunteers to interview candidates for him. After numerous interviews, Dharma finds the perfect secretary--one that meditates, reads tarot cards, and consults other divination tools. However, before making her final choice, Dharma slips into a daydream where she fantasizes the seduction of her husband by the gorgeous new secretary. In the end, the green-eyed monster rules and a considerably less attractive secretary gets the job.  
ER  Drama. Francis Bay as Georgia. Georgia walks into the ER and sits down on one of the beds without signing in. Dr. Greene, played by Anthony Edwards, approaches her and she says that she is dying. Dr. Greene asks her who her doctor is and she says that she doesn't have one, never has had one. He asks how she knows that she is going to die and she pulls out a tarot deck and says that "it's in the cards" and that she is sure she will be dead by sundown. However, at the end of the show she is shown walking out of the hospital. "Witch Hunt," originally aired March 1, 2001.
Felicity   Amanda Foreman as Meghan Rotundi. Felicity discovers that her roommate, Meghan, is practicing spell casting and using her as the target. Though Felicty is skeptical at first, she soon realizes that some of the spells (one is a spell to make her clumsy) actually seemed to work. At one point, while Meghan is laying out tarot cards, an exasperated Felicity tells Meghan she doesn't want any more spells cast upon her. Besides this, tarot cards are shown on screen (one at a time) at key transition points of the show. Some of the cards shown include the Tower, the Empress, Strength, the High Priestess, the Queen of Swords, and the Lovers. "The Force" episode # 21, season 1, originally aired May 18, 1999.
Felicity  Amanda Foreman as Meghan Rotundi. Hudes Tarot by Susan Hudes The story was about Sean Blumberg, played by Greg Grunberg, having testicular cancer. In this episode, Sean knows there is something wrong as he has an inflamed testicle, but he does not yet know it's cancer. He is reluctant to tell his girlfriend, Meghan, that there is something wrong. All she knows is that he is avoiding having sex. While they are sitting at a table, Meghan starts reading tarot cards. When she pulls the Emperor in reverse,  she begins to figure out that something is wrong with Sean. "Surprise" --episode #5 of season #3. 
Friends   Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe.  The "friends" were gathered at the coffee house. As the conversation was going on, Phoebe was doing a layout.   
General Hospital ABC soap opera. Angel Boris as Angel Ellis reads for Sonny Corinthos, played by Maruice Benard. Playing cards Sonny, a mob boss, gets stabbed and Angel finds him. She takes him back to her cottage in the woods to nurse him back to health. Weeks later they decide to get to know each other better by playing "20 questions" (low card has to answer). She asks if he will go back to his wife, who has betrayed him, and when he doesn't answer she does a 4-card spread. Aired July 9, 2001.
General Hospital ABC soap. Angel Boris as Angel Ellis. Playing cards Sonny left the cottage to have a show down with a rival mob boss and Angel was worried. She did a 4-card spread and the Death card was pulled. Although there was gun fire and a bomb went off, neither mob boss dies. Aired July 16, 2001.
Grace Kelly Made for TV movie _____ as____ tells Grace that she must choose either Love or Work while holding up two tarot cards which were supposed to represent those choices. Rider-Waite Cheryl Ladd plays Grace Kelly, the Oscar winning actress who gave up movie stardom to become a real-life princess and wife of Prince Rainier of Monaco,  in his dramatization of the actress's life story. Tarot cards focused upon were the three of swords and the seven of pentacles. 1983
Haunting Evidence series Pschic profiler, Carla, reads for the mother and sister of murder victim, Tara Grinstead. Crowley Swiss Thoth Tarot Tara Grinstead, a local high school teacher and former beauty queen disappears one evening. All her clothes and belongings are still in her home. Her is car there too. Suspiciously, her purse and cosmetic kit, which she never left home without, were is the house still. The team tries to determine if she is alive or dead. They help reopen this cold case by providing new clues for the police to follow.  July 19, 2006 Court TV
Home and Away Australian soap opera. __________ as Flo. Rider-Waite Flo is a gypsy fortuneteller  who lives in a trailer park. She reads the cards  everyday. In one episode she turned over the Death and Tower cards and predicted that a foster child that lives in the park would be in danger and that Bobbie would not try to help her when she could. Later, as Carly, a foster child,  was drowning--the sneering Bobbie watched without raising a hand to help. Luckily, a cute aussie surf lifesaver pulled Carly to safety. Circa 1990.
If These Walls Could Talk Made for TV movie Hedy Burress as Linda Barrows reads the cards to her friend Alison. (1974 segment) Albano Waite Tarot. Spread: Celtic Cross. Positions:cover, Knight of Wands; cross, Page of Wands; below, Justice; right, 2 of Pentacles; above, High Priestess; left-- 2 of Swords. Along right side were 7=Star; 8=Queen of Cups, reversed. Positions 9 and 10 were not shown. Linda, the teenage daughter Barbara Barrows,  played by Sissy Spacek, has a friend over to her house. They are reading the Tarot using a Celtic Cross spread. Across the hall, Linda's parents are arguing about an unexpected and unwanted pregnancy. (They already have four children, the eldest ready to go off to college.)  1997 This story was only one segment of a three-part 95 min. TV movie, which told about the lives of different families that lived in the house in the 50s, 70s, and 90s.
King of the Hill Comedy _______ as Bobby Hill.   Rider-Waite Bobby was at the flea market with Hank looking for a new hobby. He then made friends with other kids who practice "black magic."   2003, "The Witches of East Arlen."

Suspense thriller, cable movie for Lifetime network

Professional tarot reader gives two readings for story's heroine. Giant Rider-Waite with green backs Jean Brooks, played by Madchen Amick, goes to a tarot reader for a reading paid for my Jean's mother. Her cards are read at both the beginning and end of movie, with dramatically opposite outcomes. She falls in love by the end of the movie, but it starts out with her still mourning her husband that died 5 years before so the first reading has the Death card, Hanged Man, and Hermit in it. Monarch of the Glen Drama series, (10-TL) __________ as Auntie Liz reads the cards for Lexie, played by Daqn Steele. (10-TL) Tarot of the Witches by Fergus Hall. (10-TL) Lexie thinks Glenbogle is haunted and asks Auntie Liz for advice/tarot reading. The spread shows the Fool, the Wheel of Fortune, the Emperor, and the Death card. Lexie thinks the Death card means Archie is going to die, so she rushes home and is just in time to save him from electrocuting himself while fixing the wires. (10-TL) Episode 8, series 4. Mr. Monk Mystery/Detective series Linda Kash as Dolly Flint, a psychic. The psychic gives a tarot reading for Sharona (Bity Schram, Monk's assistant). Cards shown were Judgement, Tower, Death, Chariot and King of Pentacles. "Mr. Monk and the Psychic," July 19, 2002.
Murder She Wrote  Mystery series The head of the committee is flipping cards over during a secret midnight meeting. He holds one card up--the Death card. Rider-Waite backs, but the card drawn,  the "Death" card, was from a different deck.  A group of highly influential men, all belonging to an exclusive men's club, gather around a table to make a deadly decision. My So Called Life Patti D'Arbanville-Quinn as Amber Vallone. She does a reading for Angela, played by Claire Daines.  Jungian Tarot Rayanne, played by A J Langer, and Angela are at Rayanne's planning a party.  Amber, Rayanne's mom, does a reading for Angela.  "Other People's Daughters," episode 10, 1994.
The Name of the Game Mystery series    Howard steps into the world of witches and mystics when he sets out to prove a woman didn't commit suicide merely because he rebuffed her romantic advances. "Tarot," 1970
Nightman  Travis Woloshyn and Jared Van Snellenberg as the "two teens." Nightman walks into a cyber cafe and sees two teens handling a tarot deck. One teen turns a card over and foretells no future for Nightman. The two teens then digitize into a nearby computer monitor. All the surrounding monitors flash the logo of one of the series' villains, Kieran Keyes. Episode # 2012: "Double Double."
Northern Exposure John Corbett I as Chris Stevens, the radio personality. Thoth Tarot Chris owns the Thoth deck. Also, Shelly's mom mentioned it.   
One Life to Live Soap Opera.  Jason-Shane Scott as Will Rappaport. Rider-Waite-Coleman On this Halloween show, Will and his girl friend Jessica Buchanon are getting ready to go to a Halloween party. He has a tarot deck in his pocket, then in his hand. He shows a few cards and the plaid backs of the RW are clearly visible.   About October 31, 2000
The Others Melissa Crider as Satori. Rider-Waite Tarot Satori was a psychic who used her talent to earn money by fortune telling. Her deck was seen in many episodes, but one in particular had her trying to help a "fake" who suddenly started getting real information. Satori found out that the fake was also channeling her father's spirit, which was what inspired her to try and help him. "$4.95 a Minute," 1999.
PSI Factor Drama The four cards are seen as the camera quickly zooms in and then pans across an altar. No one touches the cards. Rider-Waite-Smith Matt Praeger and Lindsay Donner, two of the series' cast, have been contacted by Praeger's daughter regarding the mysterious abduction of one of her girl friends at Stanton University, where they are attending as freshmen. The friend is found in a wooded area near the campus and claims she was abducted and things were done to her, including the obvious branding of the back of her neck with an occult symbol. In the process of searching for clues to the incident, Praeger and Lindsay find a hidden altar, where the cards are seen briefly. Based on what they find, they and others of the PSI team realize black magic is being practised on the campus and the girl has been marked for a purpose. Lindsay is familiar with Wicca due to a Wiccan grandmother so it is she who determinines the aproaching full moon will be the time for a demon-summoning ritual. "Sacrifices" aired April 20, 2001 on TNT.
Queen of Swords Drama/Action-Adventure. Paulina Galvez plays Marta-- a servant,  seer,  and tarot card reader.  Rider-Waite Tarot Tessa,  played by Tessie Santiago, comes home to find her father was murdered by Colonel Montega. With that, her life takes a new direction. She is aided by her servant  Marta, who provides wisdom and prophecies (with the aid of the tarot) to guide Tessa in her fight against 19th century  evildoers in Mexico. Tessa takes the personae of the Queen of Swords and becomes a "sort of" female version of Zorro.  Pilot, episode 1.  [It is syndicated throughout the USA.  The show is usually either late at night or whenever UPN wants to air it. In CT, it is 5 PM on Saturdays.] 
Queen of Swords Drama/Action-Adventure. Paulina Galvez, as Marta. Rider-Waite When the Queen of Swords, Tessa, finds an old lover Antonio is in town Marta is not pleased. Marta consults the Tarot for advise and turns over the Death card to represent Tessa's ex-lover. She sees trouble. "Duel with a Stranger," aired Nov. 6, 2000.

Drama/Comedy series
 _________ as the tarot reader. Radiant Rider-Waite A beautiful tarot reader gives Sam Oliver, played by Bret Harrison, a reading and mid-way through the reading the Devil card turns up. Then several more Devil cards are turned over. Finally,  the Hanged Man card appears and Sam is suddenly suspended in the air by an invisible rope. His friend, Bert "Sock" Wysocki played by Tyler Labine, rescues him from the hanging while the tarot reader, a demon, makes a quick exit. May 28, 2008. Season finale.
Relic Hunter Lindy Booth as Claudia, university student/intern to history professor/ Ancient Civilizations expert/ adventurer, Syndey Fox, played by Tia Carrerra. JJ Swiss Tarot Syndey's friend is murdered in Bucharest and she is sent an old set of tarot cards. The tarot cards are the key to a puzzle to find the crown of the Roma. Claudia is brought along because she knows the tarot. Finding the missing card will lead to the crown. "Gypsy Jigsaw,"  #206, aired Jan. 1, 2001. Roswell Drama. __________ as the tarot reader. Maria, played by Majandra Delfino, is frustrated with where she and Michael, played by Brendan Fehr, are going in their relationship so she drags him to a tarot reader to get a definite answer out of him or the reader one way or another before Michael splits town. "Graduation," season finale, May 14, 2002.
The Secret Life of Us Drama series. Abi Tucker as Miranda. Rider-Waite Tarot Miranda does a four card reading that includes the 5 of Cups, 2 of Sords, Justice, and one other card. While she reading the cards for her friend, Will, her flat mate, comes over and starts  tease them for  believing in " all that stuff." "The Garden of Gethsemane" aired July 30, 2001 in Australia.
The Secret Life of Us Drama series. Mearca Deam Jones as the tarot reader.She reads for Kelly concerning her relationship with her boyfriend, Nathan. Rider-Waite-Smith The readers pulls three cards for Kelly: the 8 of Cups, the Lovers, and the Tower. The reader describes the Lovers card to Kelly telling her that the lovers are standing on either side of the Jewish Tree of Life (this is important because Nathan is Jewish and Kelly is not, but she was thinking of converting so that if they had children, they would be Jewish). Kelly asks if they will stay toghether , and the reader answers that it doesn't look good, but Kelly has choices to make. At the end of the episode Nathan tells Kelly that they should stop seeing each other, because it is easier to break up than to work things out. Kelly replies that she 'doesn't want easy,' but Nathan seems to have made up his mind. "Signs of Life," aired Aug. 7, 2002 in Australia.
Sex and the City Comedy series Kristen Davis as Charlotte York McDougal and Marcia Jean Kurtz as Noanie Stein. Charlotte is obsessed with finding "Mr. Right" and getting married. She is staring to think it will never happen so she decided to go to a
psychic she heard about from a sorority sister.  The psychic had accurately predicted the sorority sister's marriage.  The reader has Charlotte pull 3 cards and then asks her what her question is.
Charlotte says that she wants to know when she will get married.  The reader reveals the cards as the Ace of Wands, 9 of Cups, and the Hang Man.  She says that while she sees great prosperity for Charlotte, marriage is just not in the cards for her.

The Simpsons Animated series Marcia Wallace provides the voice of the Gypsy. Unpublished fictional deck A gypsy put a curse on homer after he demolished her shop. she didn't use a real deck, but the cards shown were "The Flaming Jerk" and "The Ruined Gypsy." "Halloween Special XII"(aka "Treehouse Horror XII").  October 31, 2001.
The Simpsons Animated series. Gypsy Tarot Reader Reader gave Lisa Simpson a 3-card reading. "Lisa's Wedding," 1995.
Sliders Science fiction series.   Blind tarot reader turns over cards for the sliders when they arrive in a new world. All discount her except Wade. "The Other Side of Darkness."
Sunset Beach Soap Opera. Margarita Cordova played Carmen. Carmen often consulted the tarot cards. Series ran from Jan 1997 to Dec. 1999.
The 10th Kingdom mini-series The Gypsy Queen, played by Eve Pearce, reads for Tony, played by John Larroquette. Observing the reading are Virginia, played by Kimberly Williams, and Wolf, played by Scott Cohen. Fictional deck The Gypsy Queen decides to read everyone's fortunes, with Tony being first. As Virginia and Wolf look on, the gypsy uses a large-carded deck and pulls out "The Buffoon" and "The Village Idiot," amongst a few other cards, calmly telling Tony she sees great fortune that passes him right by.   "The Disenchanted Forest," 2000.
That's My Bush Comedy Central's spoof of the Bush administration.  Juanita Jennings plays Miss "Clea" the tarot card reader who reads for the President and Mrs. Bush, played by Timothy Bottoms and Carrie Quinn Dolan. Probably a prop tarot deck George W. and Laura call the psychic hotline and the Death card is pulled. George worries that someone will try to assassinate him so he bans ALL guns. Another card pulled was referred to as a  "gay" card. "Eeeny Meenie Miney Murder"  episode # 102, aired June 2001.
Victim of the Haunt aka "The Uninvited" Horror Shirley Knight as the psychic, Delia. Giant size deck. Close-up not shown Delia, a psychic, is handling the cards just before she stops a young mother (Pattie Johnson)--played by Sharon Lawrence-- to tell her that her son is in danger and should be kept away from water. Delia does not actually do a tarot reading, but the cards are in the scene. Delia makes the prediction using intuition. Naturally,  the foretold dangerous event comes about and is then followed with a series of other bizarre ghost-activated events, which the psychic helps the family survive. Made for TV movie, 1996. Shown again in July 2002.
V.I.P. Action Series.    __________ as the psychic. Arcus Arcanum Pamela Anderson's character consults a psychic. The psychic is operating in public out of an open tent or canopy. As the characters in the show consult her, the psychic flipping cards from the Arcus Arcanum deck. She doesn't READ the cards; she actually channels information for the character in this instance. _______. Re-run on Jan. 5, 2002.
Vision of Escaflowne (Tenkuu no Escaflowne) A Japanese animated series. Maaya Sakamoto provides the voice for the character Hitomi Kanzaki, who handled the cards. It seemed to be a variation of the Merlin Tarot by Miranda Gray. However, the trumps were in Italian. The wheel of fortune is their gateway. The costumed guest actors were dressed as different cards. Callisto (Hudson Liek) was the Fool. Ares (Kevin Smith) was the King of Swords. It was an entertaining episode and for tarot readers, especially, the card-based imagery made much sense. In the end, Xena & Gabrielle realize that fighting was wrong and they went back to being friends. "A Bitter Suit"

Tarot of the Witches Fortune tellers and tarot card readers are being brutally murdered, and the only person who knows every detail of the killings is a nondescript insurance salesman named Clyde Bruckman. Though Scully thinks Bruckman may be involved with the killings, Mulder believes Bruckman’s knowledge of the crimes comes from his own clairvoyance. X-Files Mystery-Science Fiction series.     David Duchovny as Fox Mulder. Thoth Tarot. Mulder re-enters his office after a long absence as the X-files had been shut-down. After removing a plastic sheet from his desk, he goes to his cork board to change his calendar from May to November. Behind the claendar the back face of a Thoth deck card is tacked to the board. He does not handle the card. Mulder just seems to have it there as one of many examples of his eclectic and esoteric X-Filean paraphernalia. "3"-- A second season episode airing Nov. 4, 1994.
