Blessed Bees Tarot Bag
Busy little bees bumble all over the place on a field of black fabric. Don't be fooled by their smiling, happy faces though – there's more to these insects than meets the eye.
In Greek mythology, all bees were considered to be the souls of priestesses who had served Goddess Aphrodite during their lives. At Aphrodite's temple of Eryx her symbol was a golden honeycomb. Priestesses of the Goddess were called melissae, which literally means "bees" in Greek. The Goddess Demeter was also addressed as the pure mother bee.
Bee Symbolism: Bees symbolize many things, but more than anything they represent industriousness, diligence, and hard work. Because beehives exists as hierarchical structures under a single queen bee, they are symbols of royalty and authority. In Crowley's Thoth Tarot, the Emperor sits on his throne wearing a coat covered with bees.
