Chrysalis Tarot is one of our new favorite decks of Tarot cards! Voted as the "2014 Deck of the Year" by the Tarosophy Tarot Association, this deck delights and charms, and inspires and challenges readers of all skill levels.
Blending symbols from multiple cultures — Celtic, Yoruban, Hindu, West African, Egyptian, and more — the Chrysalis Tarot deck is truly transformative! The exquisite artwork shows mythological archetypes and legendary characters from traditions all over the world to guide you on your spiritual path.
The suits of the Minor Arcana are not the four suits used in traditional Tarot cards, but they are parallel in meaning. The suit of Stones replaces Coins or Pentacles as representative of earthy, material concerns. The suit of Mirrors replaces Cups or Chalices as representative of water and emotion. Scrolls are used in place of Swords as a more apt symbol of air and intellect. Lastly, Wands are replaced with Spirals to represent fiery passion and will.
Together, the court cards of the Minor Arcana are presented as a medieval troupe composed of a Minstrel (King of Stones), a Mime (Page of Spirals), a Poet (King of Scrolls), a Healer (Page of Mirrors), an Artiste (Queen of Stones), among others.
A 60 page booklet is included with the 78 card deck.
The card stack measures 4-3/4" long x 2-7/8" wide x 1-1/8" tall.
