Cats of all kinds accompany the people in the Tarot of the Cat People deck. It's a powerful blend of symbolism and fantastical imagery, using elaborate designs and felines to enhance the meaning of each card. Each and every one of these artfully rendered cards has a cat on it of some kind, be it lion or housecat.
The cards tell a fantasy story of the kingdoms of the Outer Regions, home to the Cat People. The Major Arcana and each of the four suits in the Minor Arcana (Wands, Cups, Swords, Pentacles) represents a different kingdom of the Outer Regions.
Getting to know the people of this richly envisioned world – the Sky People, Fire People, Sand People, Salt People, and Rock People – is a fascinating journey of self-discovery. Though this is an unusual deck, both in concept and artistry, the symbolism depicted closely follows the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith format.
