Watchful Classic Tarot Bag
You probably know that peacocks are associated with beauty, but did you know they're also sacred to the Mother Goddess Hera? They are a symbol of protection through watchfulness. Jealous of Zeus' dalliance with a human woman, Hera set a giant named Argus with 100 eyes to watch over the woman. When Zeus discovered this he slew Argus. For his sacrifice Hera honored Argus by placing his eyes on the tips of the peacock's tail.
In this elevated position, the peacock feathers have come to be associated with everything dealing with vision and clarity (such as second sight, clairvoyance, visions) and protection (watchfulness, guardianship).
